Without hope, without light
We waited in the outer darkness
From heaven you came out
With an ark of mercy in your eyes
You revealed the kingdom coming
Reconciled the lost
Redeeming all creation
In trials, you did not despise the cross
You wore our infirmities
Went to hell to get the keys
Emblem of our victory
For our sakes, you endured the suffering
All of heaven watched in awe
The morning you rose
The stone was rolled away
First begotten of the dead
The dead rose from their tombs
The souls of all who'd come
To the father are restored
The church of Christ was born
The spirit lit the flame
Now the gospel can be preached
He broke the seal
Truth of freedom revealed
Connected us back to the father's love
Made us a kingdom
Opened the scroll
Gave us an inheritance and brought us home
